Hi, I’m Ahmed Amir, Born in 1971 in the Maldives, I enjoy creating and sharing the things I make.

Music I discovered my passion for music at age 12, I developed my drumming by studying legends like Jo Jones, Dave Weckl, and Jojo Mayer, I was a member of Freeze Band, which became one of the Maldives' most popular acts, performing regularly at resorts. After a break to focus on art and graphic design, I joined Zero Degree Atoll, playing at numerous venues over many years. I contributed drums to their recorded album Breaking Waves on Anba and arranged drum tracks for Nashid's “Bird in Flight.” I also performed in Malaysia with local bands and played regularly with Mohoj at venues like Conrad and Hilton in the Maldives. My style spans rock, blues, reggae, and jazz, with a favorite in Zero Degree Atoll's complex rhythms and shifting time signatures. Currently, I play jazz drums with Naail Quartet at local gigs and sessions.

Art For me, art is the purest form of self-expression—a meaningful exploration of beauty in fleeting moments. With my knife and oil paints, I delve into how nature speaks to us and how we perceive our connection with it. I am drawn to oil paint for its rich texture and the way it invites exploration. This medium allows me to blend and layer colors, bringing my inspirations to life in a unique and dynamic way.

Other Pursuits Outside of music and art, I take photos as a hobby — mostly landscapes from travels and climbs, or street scenes that catch my eye.
